planted a cherry tomato plant in back garden on 5/21/10

• fertilized when planted


• watered about every other day - including rainfall


• doing well - has a few tomatoes about to turn


• starting to have yellow leaves on the bottom of plant - will look into cause

after trying seeds directly outside I have realized that the mulch I am laying ontop is preventing germination and growth.

so do not mulch until seedlings are 2-3 inches high.

Green pepper is doing great in a container on the deck - therefore, I must conclude that it needs well drained, good soil.
